John is currently working on a freelance basis as a Draughtsman and Technical Consultant for the Entertainment industry, predominantly within Theatre and Live Events. Most recently John was employed by Birmingham Ceremonies Ltd. as part of the technical team to help deliver the 2022 Commonwealth Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Previously John has been employed as a Scenic Project Manager for Light Fantastic Production Services, and by the Royal Opera House as a Construction Draughtsman.

John was selected as a public panelist for the 2020 Olivier Awards on Theatre panel. As a part of the panel John watched and critiqued over 110 productions throughout the course of a year before voting for the nominees and winners alongside SOLT members. This was a hugely rewarding experience  and demonstrates John's passion and understanding of Theatre at the highest level.

 

John is an AutoCAD Certified Professional (ACP) following a proctored exam in June 2018 and June 2019, and appears on the global database for Autodesk Certified Professionals.

John graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (RCSSD) with a BA(Hons) in Theatre Practice: Scenic Construction and is currently based in London, UK.
